Go Rinconada Movement Sponsors Lake Bato Film Showing

As part of the organization's environmental advocacy, Go Rinconada Movement shall sponsor the showing of the environmental documentary film, Lake Bato, on January 30, 2009 at Universidad de Sta. Isabel, Naga City. The film deals with disaster management, and other issues encountered by a lakeside community in Lake Bato. It is a moving documentary of 'community bayanihan' in the face of natural disaster; of how a community's survival is closely linked with the lake's resources; of human drama in the daily struggles faced by the poor in Rinconada.
The event also formally launches TABANG KALIKASAN RINCONADA, the environmental advocacy campaign of Go Rinconada Movement. TABANG KALIKASAN RINCONADA aims: 1) to intensify public awareness of the need to protect and preserve Rinconada's natural environment; 2) to undertake environmental-care projects that will positively impact long-term eco-system protection and preservation of Mt. Iriga/Asog, Lakes Buhi and Bato, Rinconada's river-system, natural springs and waterfalls; and 3) to promote pro-active cooperation and participation among private, government, and NGO sector initiatives geared towards the protection and preservation of the environment.
